Thank you for your interest in the University of Utah Interventional Spine & Musculoskeletal Medicine Fellowship. After much deliberation, we unfortunately had to make the very difficult decision to put a pause on receiving visiting residents to our fellowship. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, we enjoyed welcoming visiting residents. Over the past two years, however, a multitude of factors have arisen that prompted numerous thoughtful discussions about accepting visiting residents, many of which were driven by graduate medical education. We recognize all of the mutual benefits of having residents come and look at our program.
We want to emphasize that we very much value all interested residents. Our fellowship has long been committed to providing the very highest level of academic training. This commitment starts with providing interested residents with open, transparent communication about the program. We know how important it is for you to understand the details of each training program. We encourage you to take advantage of our offer to put you in contact with any of our former fellows, current fellows and fellowship faculty to get first-hand information about the training program. We enjoy meeting new future Interventional Spine & Musculoskeletal Medicine physicians, and are always open to communicating with you.
Please reach out to our program coordinator, Charis Wren (charis.wren@hsc.utah.edu), with any questions.
